Day 1
SUNDAY, JUNE 28, 2026
Leave this morning for an afternoon arrival at the National Bridge State Park that was once owned by Thomas Jefferson. Once there, board a shuttle bus to see the 215-foot high Natural Bridge. We will check into the Natural Bridge Historic Hotel for our three-night stay. An included dinner will be in the hotel's Colonial Dining Room.
Day 2
MONDAY, JUNE 29, 2026
Wake up to enjoy an included breakfast buffet before we travel to Lexington, VA. You will take a carriage ride to learn the history of the area and visit the Virginia Military Institute Museum. Enjoy lunch on your own before a wagon ride through Virginia Safari Park. This evening, dinner is included at the nostalgic 1950's Pink Cadillac Diner.
Day 3
TUESDAY, JUNE 30, 2026
Today we visit Roanoke, the capital of Virginia to explore the work of O.Winston Link, a photographic and auditory artist, including a film of his life's work and a tour of the exhibits. Lunch will be on your own at the Roanoke City market. After lunch we will visit the Virginia Museum of Transportation. The museum features more than 50 locomotives, along with vintage automobiles, trucks, and interactive exhibits for all ages. Our last stop of the afternoon will be Black Dog Salvage, as seen on TV, an impressive 40,000 square foot warehouse showcasing a stunning variety of antiques and commercial salvage. Dinner is included this evening back at the historic Natural Bridge Hotel.
Day 4
WEDNESDAY, JULY 1, 2026
What a wonderful time to visit Monticello during the celebration of the USA's 250th Anniversary. This stunning home of Thomas Jefferson is located in a beautiful location in Charlottesville, VA. In addition to the house, the meticulously maintained gardens, preserved as they were during Jefferson's lifetime, are a true treat to see. A guided tour of the home will be provided. Following the tour, we'll enjoy a short ride to Michie Tavern for a southern-style midday buffet. We are then homeward bound, concluding this memorable historical tour.
