1000 Islands & Finger Lakes

Many travelers wonder why some trips are canceled. This usually happens when not enough people sign up in advance.

Most venues require our payments 60–90 days before the trip, so we often must make decisions well ahead of departure dates.

Booking early helps keep these wonderful trips on the schedule—thank you!

Day 1

WEDNESDAY AUGUST 12, 2026
Today we are bound for 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel, with a delightful stop along the way in the Finger Lakes! Be sure to bring your ID, as we will sample local favorites at Montezuma Winery and Hidden Marsh Distillery on beautiful Cayuga Lake. In the late afternoon, after time to relax and enjoy our river-view rooms, we will depart from the docks located just behind the hotel. This evening, we will glide through the pristine waters of the 1000 Islands while enjoying a dinner buffet onboard. Our two-hour cruise offers stunning sunset views and glimpses of several Canadian Islands.

Day 2

THURSDAY, AUGUST 13, 2026
After an included breakfast, we will set out for our second boat tour. Our first stop will be Heart Island for a guided tour of Boldt Castle. Built by millionaire hotel magnate George C. Boldt as a tribute to his beloved wife, Louise, the castle was intended as their summer dream home. We will enjoy a boxed lunch on the water before stopping at Dark Island for a tour of Singer Castle, one of the most infamous historic homes in the 1000 Islands, built by the president of Singer Sewing Machines! Experience the dungeons and hidden passageways of this castle. As we journey home, you will need your ID once again for a visit to Three Brothers Wineries & Estates in the Finger Lakes on Seneca Lake. Stroll the estate and choose one of the four tasting rooms to redeem your tasting certificate. We conclude our tour with dinner on your own at their restaurant.

$75.00 per person due within two (2) weeks of booking.

Final Payment:

Balance due sixty (60) days prior to departure.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

More than sixty (60) days prior to departure:

Full refund.
From sixty (60) days to fourteen (14) days prior to departure:

$25.00 per person cancellation fee plus any non-refundable deposits paid by McCarter Coach & Tour.
Within fourteen (14) days of departure:

No refund.

Tour Protection

Optional tour protection is available for cancellations made up to forty-eight (48) hours prior to departure.

With tour protection:

A full refund, minus protection cost, if cancellation is received at least forty-eight (48) hours prior to departure time.
Cost:

$16.00 per day. Must be purchased no later than sixty (60) days prior to departure.
Note:

Full payment remains due sixty (60) days prior to departure. Failure to remit final payment will void tour protection.
